Community Support

We understand that our membership often times needs community assistance & services and may not know where to turn. We want to keep our website updated so that our membership can find information and get connected with organizations that provide assistance to low income families and folks in the community. Below is information on organizations and upcoming events. 


  • Kalamazoo County offers immunization clinics- here is a link to their website 
  • Planned Parenthood (Kalamazoo Location- near campus) offers a wide range of income based low to no cost health services here is a link to their website 
  • The Kalamazoo County Dental Program is located here 311 E Alcott St, Kalamazoo, MI 49001,Tel (269) 373-5200 
  • Family Health Center 117 W. Paterson, Kalamazoo MI (269)349-2641, this location can provide services for individuals and families, including dental care. 
  • Western Michigan University- Unified Clinics 1000 Oakland drive, Kalamazoo MI, ((269)387-7000 
  • Family Health Center- City of Portage 325 E Centre, assistance includes medications, family & child health care and referrals to specialists 
  • Vision & Hearing Screening 
  • Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes Market Pantry- primary food assistance program, they offer food assistance, if you are interested in assistance you can call "Need Food" line at 343-FOOD (3663) to request same day service. Open from 9AM-1PM. Here is a link to their website 
  • Kalamazoo County Bar Association- Legal outreach clinics, attorneys consult individuals who can not afford an attorney. All clinics are held in evenings from 6-8PM, here is a link to their website 
  • CARES Kalamazoo- offers FREE HIV testing by friendly, knowledgeable staff in a confidential and safe environment. They also offer case management for those managing the complexity of HIV. For more info go to their website 
  • WMU Invisible Needs Project- offers a food pantry and student emergency relief fund. It's a multi-faceted initiative intended to serve students with unmet needs, while strengthening culture of giving at WMU. Questions? email dosa-inp@wmich.edu, you can also check out their website 
  • 60th District DSO (District Service Office), the 60th DSO is a nonprofit corporate entity established for the purpose of providing Kalamazoo area residents with direct access to their government and their needs/concerns.   • Need help paying bills? There are options for rent assistance and monetary programs for low income households including programs that offer rent support, free gasoline vouchers, charities that offer free cars & bus tokens, free air conditioners & home repairs.
